WHO WE ARE.
Libre Foods is a biotech startup on a mission to liberate the food system and create a more free future for people, our planet and animals through the food we eat.
As the first EU company scaling out production of fungi-based whole-cut meat alternatives, we aim to harness the brilliance of fermentation and place fungi at the forefront of food innovation. Using the entire fungi organism, we aim to bridge the gap between plants and animals and bring us closer to the taste and texture of real animal products than we’ve ever been before.
WHAT WE DO.
Through our fermentation process, we recreate the same conditions in which fungi grow in nature, and optimize them for our fungi to grow better, faster and stronger than it ever could on its own. Over the span of days, we feed our fungi food and all of its essential needs until it grows large enough for us to give our products thickness and texture.
At the end of the process, what is left are mycelium biomass structures that we combine with food science to create the whole-muscle cut meat products that we know and love.
